Don't Play the Horn!

You can't! No one can!

The horn is a tube. That's all. Just a tube. When we play it just sits there. The only thing it really can do is get shorter or longer.

They are just fancy tubes!

What we really play is ourselves and the air trapped inside the tube.

This is an important distinction. Understanding what is going on with the air inside the horn allows you to focus on controlling the air rather than the embouchure.
